We are down in Colaba at 18, 25, Ida Mansion on Vaju Kotak Marg. It’s a historic part of the city, and our building has that old Mumbai feel to it. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high, which is nice during the hotter months when the sun is strong. We’ve been in Ida Mansion for a long time. It’s a bit of a maze inside if you aren’t used to it. We handle international trade and imports, which keeps us pretty occupied throughout the week. The office is filled with the sound of keyboards and the occasional ringing of the landline. We don't have any flashy signs or a big lobby. It’s just a place where we come to work. Being in Colaba, there are always tourists and locals walking around outside, but inside we just focus on our ledgers and customs documents. We usually take our lunch breaks at one of the small cafes nearby that serve good local food. It is a very lived-in space, with mismatched furniture and stacks of old magazines in the corner. We don't worry too much about the aesthetics of the place. As long as we can find the files we need and the internet is working, we are happy enough. It’s a small, dedicated team here, and we all know our roles well. We try to leave by six but sometimes the work keeps us later than we planned.
