We’ve been here at the Nirmal Rubber & Boards Compound on I.B. Patel Road for a long time now. Goregaon East has changed a lot since we started, but our foundry stays pretty much the same. It's hot, it's dusty, and there is always something that needs fixing. We spend most of our days dealing with molds and molten metal. It is hard work, but it is what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine acts up, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. The staff here has been with us for years. We aren't a big fancy office with air conditioning everywhere. Mostly, we are just a bunch of guys in jumpsuits trying to get the orders out on time. The traffic on I.B. Patel Road can be a real headache in the evenings, especially when the trucks are trying to get in and out. We don't have a PR team or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. We just make parts. If you walk into the shop, you'll see a lot of grease and hear a lot of noise. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done. We’ve had some tough years, but we are still standing. Every day is about managing the floor and making sure the metal is right. It’s a simple life, really. We just keep our heads down and work.
