Gandhi Fabricators

Working in Malad West means dealing with a lot of movement every single day. Our shop, Gandhi Fabricators, is located at unit 22 in the Nirman Industrial Estate. It’s on Link Road, specifically in the Chincholi Bunder section. If you’ve ever been through this part of Mumbai, you know how packed the industrial estates can get. There’s always the sound of metal being cut or welded, and that’s basically the soundtrack to our lives here. We do a lot of fabrication work, mostly involving steel and iron. The workshop is full of tools, machines, and raw materials waiting to be turned into something useful. We don't have a big showroom. If you come to see us, you’re going to see us in our work clothes, probably covered in a bit of soot or grease. That’s just the nature of fabrication. The Link Road traffic is something we’ve learned to live with, especially during the monsoon when things slow down. We’ve been at this location for a good while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. Still, inside our unit, it’s the same focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the welding is solid. We don’t use fancy words to describe what we do. We just take the orders, do the work, and make sure it’s ready when we said it would be. It's a simple, honest way to make a living in the city.
