Funky Collection

Funky Collection is a small spot located at Shop No 2 in Dadi Chawl. We are on Irla Society Road, which stays pretty busy most of the time. Vile Parle West is a neighborhood where everyone seems to be in a hurry, but our shop feels a bit different. It is a modest space, nothing like those big showrooms you see in the malls. We have been here at No 123 for some time now. The chawl has a lot of history and the neighbors are all quite friendly with each other. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit messy, but that is just how it is around here. We open up the shutters every morning and set things out so people can see what we have. It is just a few of us working here. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the shelves to talking to the people who walk in. You do not get a lot of space in a chawl shop, so we have to stay organized. Most of our day is spent greeting regulars or showing items to students from the nearby colleges. It is a simple way of doing things. We do not use any fancy computer systems for every little thing. We just write things down and make sure the customers are okay. If you walk down Irla Society Road, you will see our sign right there among the other local businesses.
