Fortune Stainless Limited is based at 8, Earth House on Babu Genu Road. This part of the city is always buzzing with people selling hardware and metal. It can be quite a struggle just to get a vehicle through the street sometimes. Our office is in a building that has been around for a long time. It has that old-school feel to it, with narrow stairs and heavy doors. We deal with stainless steel, so you’ll often see bits of metal samples or heavy catalogues lying around our desks. It’s a tough business. Prices change all the time and customers are always looking for something specific. We spend a lot of our day on the phone or checking the latest stock lists. It’s not a fancy environment. We have old fans that click while they spin and stacks of invoices that never seem to get smaller. But this is where we feel at home. Most of us have been working in the metal trade for years, so we know the ins and outs of it. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just buy and sell steel and make sure it gets to the right place. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things go wrong, but we just fix it and move on. There’s a lot of history on this road, and we’re just glad to be one of the businesses that’s still standing. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know.
