Being located on Kirol Road in Vidya Vihar West means we are right in the thick of things in Mumbai. The train station isn't too far, so you can always hear the faint sound of the city moving around us. Our school building has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a tall structure, and climbing the stairs every day keeps everyone fit, whether they like it or not. The classrooms are filled with those typical wooden benches that have been around for ages. We don't have a massive amount of open space, but the kids make the most of every corner during their breaks. You’ll see them playing games in the small courtyard or just sitting on the steps talking. The morning assembly is a big deal, where everyone lines up in the heat before heading to class. Teachers are always scurrying around with stacks of papers or books under their arms. We have a lot of local families who have been sending their kids here for generations. It feels very grounded. Sometimes the fans rattle a bit too much, or the windows get stuck, but it’s home to us. We just go about our business, teaching the lessons and ringing the bell on time. It’s a busy, cramped, but lively place to be every single day for everyone involved.
