Fakhri Iron & Steel Mart

Fakhri Iron & Steel Mart is tucked into the Hararwala Building at 410 Girgaon. We are right opposite Moti Talkies, which is the easiest way to find us if you are new to the area. The building itself is old and has that heavy, solid feel to it. Working with iron and steel means there is always a bit of a mess and a lot of noise. You hear the clanging of metal against metal all day long. It is a tough business on the hands and the clothes. Everything is heavy and we spend a lot of time loading and unloading stuff. The street outside is always packed with people and cars, especially since we are near the talkies. Sometimes the smell of the city and the old building gets a bit much, but you stop noticing it after the first hour. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just the stock, the scales, and the ledger. My desk is tucked in a corner where I can see the entrance. Girgaon is a crowded place, and our bit of the Hararwala Building is no exception. We deal with all sorts of people, from contractors to locals needing a small piece of metal. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the lights go out on the street. No big speeches or promises, just the daily grind of the steel mart.
