Eye Lite Luminaries

If you know Lohar Chawl, you know it's a crowded place. We’re up on the 3rd floor of the Lawyers Chamber at 50 Picket Road. It’s a bit of a climb, and the building has that old Mumbai feel to it. We’ve been here at Eye Lite Luminaries for quite a while now. The hallways are narrow and you often hear the lawyers talking next door. Our office is filled with different kinds of lights and fixtures. It’s not a showroom, just a place where we keep our stock and handle the orders. Picket Road is always buzzing with people looking for electrical stuff. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing down notes on scraps of paper. It gets humid in the afternoons, so we usually keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. We don’t do much advertising; most people just find us because they’re already in the market. It’s a practical setup. We know which lights work for which jobs, and we just tell people the truth about what we have. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic downstairs, but that’s just life in this part of town. We’re just a small team of people who’ve been doing this for years. No big speeches, no fancy suits. Just us in the office, surrounded by boxes of luminaries, trying to get things out on time and keeping the paperwork straight.
