We are based right here in Asalpha Village, inside the Baramati Chawl. If you know the area in Ghatkopar West, you probably know where the Sushila General Store is. That is basically our landmark for anyone trying to find us. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. Most days it’s pretty loud outside with people walking by and the usual Mumbai noise, but we get our work done. Exim Transtrade (I) Pvt Ltd is just a group of us handling trade stuff. It isn’t a fancy glass building or anything like that. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking papers. The office space is small but it works for what we need. Getting here can be a bit of a squeeze through the narrow lanes, especially when it rains and everything gets muddy. We usually have tea from the corner shop twice a day. It’s just how things go around here. People in the chawl know us by face. We don’t really do big ads or anything. We just focus on the shipments and making sure things move from one place to another without too many headaches. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet acts up, but that’s just part of being in this part of town. We are just local people running a business and trying to keep everything organized in the middle of all the chaos of Kailash Nagar.
