Everest Batteries is located at Shop 9 in the Suleman Khatri Building. We are over in Kurla West, specifically in the Dharnidhar Estate area of Rakhial. You can find us right opposite the Taximens Colony, which is a big landmark around here. The shop is small and usually packed with batteries of all sizes. It smells a bit like lead and plastic, but that’s the nature of the business. I’ve been sitting in this shop for years. Kurla is always crowded and noisy, so there is never a dull moment. We have batteries stacked up to the ceiling in some spots. It’s not the most organized place, but I know exactly where everything is. People from the Taximens Colony often drop by when they have trouble with their vehicles. It’s a busy street with people constantly moving. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the traffic outside, so we spend time wiping things down. It’s a simple setup—just a counter, some tools for testing, and the stock. We don’t have any fancy displays. People come to us because they know we’ve been here in this exact spot for a long time. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit by the door to get some light. It’s a local business through and through. Just me and the batteries. The neighbor makes good tea which helps during the long afternoons.
