Bhandup East is a busy part of Mumbai, and that is where you can find us at A-4 in the Raghuvansh Friends Colony. The colony is a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it, but it’s a good place to be. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have some wooden desks and some shelves that are pretty much overflowing with folders. It’s just how we operate at Essar in this part of town. We aren't interested in looking like a big corporate firm. We just want to get through the daily tasks without any trouble. The train station isn't too far away, so there is always the sound of the city in the background. It gets very humid here, especially when the monsoon starts. We have to be careful with the paperwork so it doesn't get damp. Usually, it's just the three or four of us here, drinking tea and working on our computers. We don't have long meetings or anything like that. We just talk across the room when something needs to be discussed. It’s a very direct and simple way of working. We know the local shopkeepers and the people who live in the neighboring buildings. It feels like we are part of the neighborhood. We just do our bit and then head home in the evening.
