Our office is in the General Assurance Building, up in room 232. It is one of those older buildings with a lot of character, though the elevators can be a bit slow on Monday mornings. We focus on marine services, which means we do a bit of everything related to ships and the sea. Whether it is finding parts or helping with documentation, we are usually involved. It is not the kind of job where you sit still for very long. Even when we are at our desks, we are usually on the phone or coordinating things for a vessel that is about to dock. We don't have any fancy brochures or a big marketing department. We just have a few people who have been in the industry for years and know the ropes. We know how things work at the docks and who to talk to when something gets stuck. It is a practical job. We don't try to make it sound more important than it really is. We just provide a service that ships need when they come into port. The building we are in has seen better days, but it is a good location for us. We like the history of the place. We just want to get through our list of tasks and make sure no one is waiting on us. It is a simple way to run a business, but it works for us and the people we help out.
