Our place is at 5 Chandewadi, right inside the Gambar Wada area in the Sena Maharaj Building. It is a pretty busy spot and the air always smells a bit like metal and oil. We deal with steel, which isn't the cleanest or easiest job, but it is what we know. The floors are concrete and they have plenty of scratches from dragging heavy rods and sheets around all day. We have been here for a long time, so the local guys know us pretty well. Sometimes it gets so loud with the cutting and moving that we have to shout to hear each other over the noise. It is not a showroom where everything is shiny. It is a working shop. We have got stacks of inventory that sometimes touch the ceiling. If you come by looking for something, we might have to dig through a few piles to find the exact piece you need. Sena Maharaj Building is old and has a lot of character. We don't have a receptionist sitting at a desk. You just walk in and find whoever isn't holding a heavy load at the moment. We drink a lot of tea from the corner stall to keep us going through the afternoons when it gets really hot under the tin roof. We don't do much online. Most people just show up with a drawing on a piece of scrap paper and ask if we can cut it for them. It is basic and it works.
