You can find us over at Sagar Samrata Chs, room 501, which is in the Mhada Layout of Malvani No 08. It’s in Malad West, a part of Mumbai that is always moving. The building is one of those typical cooperative housing societies. We are up on the fifth floor. It’s not a massive medical complex with marble floors. It’s a more modest setup where we handle the administrative side of things. The layout around here can be a bit confusing for people visiting for the first time because all the Mhada buildings look somewhat similar. We often have to give people extra directions over the phone. Inside, the space is busy. We have files stacked up and phones that ring fairly often. It’s a real working environment, not a staged office for photos. The view from the window shows a lot of other rooftops and the general bustle of Malad. We don’t have fancy coffee machines; we just use a basic kettle. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we know the building and the area like the back of our hands. We focus on getting the records right and making sure everything is in order. It’s a lot of practical, everyday work that doesn't get much attention but needs to happen. We like the local feel of being in a Mhada colony rather than a sterile business park. It makes the day feel more real.
