Don Bosco High School sits on Nathalal Parekh Marg in Matunga and it’s a place that almost everyone in this part of town knows about. The grounds are big, which is rare for Mumbai, so there’s always some kind of game happening, usually football or cricket depending on the season and the weather. The main building looks old and has that solid feel to it, like it’s been standing there forever and isn't going anywhere. You can hear the traffic from the main road all day, but once you get inside the gates, the sound of students talking over each other takes over. The corridors are long and the walls are covered in old photos and notices that have been taped up for months. We have a lot of stairs to climb and the classrooms have those big windows that let in the breeze when it’s actually blowing outside. Mornings are a bit of a mess with all the cycles and cars trying to drop kids off at the same time near the entrance. The canteen usually smells like snacks around mid-morning, which makes everyone hungry before the actual break starts. It’s a busy, loud, and very active place where things are always happening from the morning bell to the afternoon sports. The staff has been here a long time and they know the shortcuts around the building better than anyone else. We just keep things moving every day.
