If you go to the Sonal Industrial Estate in Malad West, you will find us at K/63. Dk Platers has been in this little corner for a while now. The estate is always crowded with people moving boxes and machines running. Plating is a specific kind of job. It involves a lot of liquid and tanks and wires. The air inside our unit always has that sharp, metallic smell that hits you the moment you walk in. We wear our old clothes and boots because everything gets splashed sooner or later. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice shirt. The floors are often wet, and we have to watch our step. We have a small crew, and we’ve worked together for long enough that we don’t need to say much to get things done. Malad is a busy area, especially when the shift ends and everyone heads for the station. We usually stay back a bit to clean up the tanks and get ready for the next morning. There isn't any fancy office here, just a desk with a lot of bills and a telephone that rings quite a bit. It’s a hardworking environment where things get messy, but that is just part of the process for what we do. We don't worry about being polished. We just make sure the plating is done properly before the day is over.
