Our office is at 28 Carnac Siding Road, right in the Sakar Galli area of the Iron Market. If you know this part of town, you know it is always loud with the sound of trucks and metal being moved. We have been here for a long time. We handle iron and steel trading. It is a very basic operation. We have some old desks, a few cupboards full of old files, and a telephone that rings quite a lot. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. Most of our customers are people we have known for twenty years. We talk about the market and how the prices are moving. The street outside is usually blocked with lorries waiting to load up. It gets very dusty in the summer and muddy when it rains. We just manage the paperwork and make sure the right stuff gets sent out to the sites. We aren't a big corporation with departments and managers. It’s just a few of us making sure the business keeps running. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone needs to talk to us, they usually just stop by the office or give us a call on the landline. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the orders. It is hard work but it is what we know.
