You can find us on the 9th floor of the 2nd Makanji Mansion over on Balgovindas Road. We’re right near the Yashwant Natyagruh in Mahim. Being up on the ninth floor gives us a bit of a view of the city, though we’re usually too busy with the medical science work to look out the window much. Mahim is a busy part of Mumbai. There’s always something happening downstairs near the theater, and the noise from the traffic usually filters up. Our office is a bit of a trek up, but the lift usually works fine, so we don't complain too much. We’ve been here for a while. It’s an old-school building with a lot of character and thick walls. We do research and handle medical data mostly. The space is filled with desks and a lot of folders stacked on shelves. It’s not one of those modern glass offices you see in the newer parts of the city. We like it here because it’s central and everyone knows where Makanji Mansion is. The staff is just a few local people who know the area well and have worked here for years. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. We just have our name on the door and get to work. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy from the street, but you get used to it after a week or two. It’s a solid place to run the institute from and we are happy here.
