Our office is right there in the Cementwala Building in Bhendi Bazar, just across from the Saifee Ambulance. It’s a busy spot and there is always noise from the street coming through the door. We spend most of our time staring at flight schedules and train timings on the old monitors. The walls have a few maps that are starting to curl at the edges. People drop by to ask about ticket prices or how to get a visa for their kids. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls. Sometimes the printer jams right when we’re trying to hand someone their boarding pass. We usually have a few glass-topped desks covered in scratched-up notebooks and half-empty pens. It’s not a big corporate setup. It’s just a place where you can come and talk about where you need to go. If the office feels a bit cramped, it’s because of all the files we keep from over the years. We know the neighbors well and the tea guy knows exactly how many cups we need by eleven in the morning. Versova is a lively area and being in this building for so long means we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. We just keep doing what we do, booking seats and making sure people have their documents ready before they head to the airport or the station. It's a bit of a juggle but we manage to get through the day and get people to their destinations.
