Devi Enterprises

Devi Enterprises is up on the 4th floor of the Sai Commercial Building. We are right near the Lakme factory in Govandi East, so that’s the landmark everyone uses to find us. Being on the 4th floor means we have a bit of a view of the rooftops, but the climb up is tiring when the lift is being serviced. The office is pretty basic. We have a few desks, a computer that’s a bit slow, and a lot of filing cabinets that are overflowing. It’s just me and a couple of others working here most days. It’s relatively quiet compared to the street level, which is a relief. We deal with a lot of different things, mostly coordination and paperwork for various supplies. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. Usually, the only people who come by are the delivery boys or the occasional client who got lost looking for Lakme. We keep a kettle in the corner for making coffee because the canteen downstairs isn't very good. The afternoon sun hits the windows directly, so it gets pretty warm around three o’clock. We just pull the curtains and keep working until it’s time to go home. It’s a steady routine that hasn't changed much in years. We just keep at it and stay busy.
