Daksh Multipurpose Nidhi Limited

We are located right in the heart of Dharavi at the Transit Camp. It’s Row K7, on the ground floor. If you walk down Mahatma Gandhi Road, you can’t really miss the area, though finding the specific plot can be a bit tricky if you’re new to the neighborhood. The office is small but we make it work for us. It’s always busy outside with people moving around and vendors calling out their prices. Inside, we have a couple of desks and some chairs for people to sit while they wait for their turn. We handle a lot of the daily records and paperwork for the locals. It’s a ground-floor spot, so it stays relatively cool, but we still keep the fans on full blast during the summer months. There’s always a bit of tea being shared around from the shop next door. We know most of the people who come through the door by their first name. It’s not a fancy bank with marble floors and security guards. It’s just a practical space where we handle the books and talk to everyone who stops in. We’ve been here in Block 4 for a while now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the ledgers to worry about that right now. It’s an honest day’s work in a very busy neighborhood. We just do what needs to be done and go home.
