Crochet Boutique

You can find our little boutique at 272/ A Jumma Masjid Building on the first floor, in Flat Number 3. We are right above Hotel Arabia in the Sai Baba Nagar area of Colaba. It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs, but it’s a nice quiet space once you get inside. Being in Colaba, there’s always a lot of tourists around, but we mostly see locals who know about us. We do a lot of crochet work here. There’s yarn and needles all over the place. It’s not the most organized room, but we know where every color is hidden. We spend hours just sitting and working on different pieces. Sometimes we get distracted talking to people who drop by for a cup of tea. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere. We don't have a fancy storefront on the ground floor, so people really have to look for us. The building is old and has a lot of character. We like being upstairs because it’s a bit away from the street noise. We don't do any big advertising or social media stuff. Word of mouth usually brings people in. It’s slow work, making things by hand, but we enjoy the process. We just keep at it, one stitch at a time, and hope someone likes what we’ve made. The view from our window is just the back of another building, but we get some nice morning light. We’ve filled the windowsills with some potted plants that struggle a bit because we forget to water them.
