Khetwadi is famous for being the center of the steel and metal markets. The lanes are very narrow and the buildings are packed tightly together. Haji Allarakaha Building is an old structure, and you can feel the history when you walk in. Our office is a simple place where we manage all our steel orders. It’s often very crowded on the street outside with handcarts and trucks trying to navigate the tight turns. We are used to the noise and the constant bustle of the market. Inside, we have our files and our phones, which are usually ringing. We don't go in for fancy decorations or expensive office furniture. It’s a practical workspace meant for business. Most of our neighbors are also in the steel trade, so we all know each other. The air in Khetwadi always has a bit of a metallic smell to it. We spend our days talking to customers and checking on our inventory. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just keep going. It’s not a polished corporate office, but it’s where we do our best work. We’ve been here for years and wouldn't really know what to do with ourselves in a modern high-rise. It’s a good, solid place to be for us.
