We’ve been here at Shop No. 2 in the Khimji Kalyanji Chwal for a good while now. If you know Malad West, you probably know Underai Road. It’s right next to the Malad Police Station and the Shiv Sena office is just a stone's throw away from us. Being in this part of Mumbai means things are always busy around the shop. We deal with metal works here at Comet Deepak Metal Industries. It’s a small setup but we stay busy with the local stuff. People often get lost finding the chawl at first, but once you see the police station, you’re basically there. It’s just one of those old-school spots in Malad where everyone knows everyone. We mostly just focus on the metal side of things day in and day out. Sometimes the traffic on Underai Road gets a bit much, especially in the evenings, but that’s just how it is around here. We don’t really do anything fancy, just the work that comes through the door. It’s a practical kind of place, really. Most of our regulars are from the neighborhood and they just drop by when they need something. We’ve kept the shop running from this same spot for years and haven't really felt the need to move elsewhere. It's a convenient location for us being so close to the main landmarks in the area. If you walk past the Shiv Sena office, you'll see us right there. There's always a bit of noise from the street, but you get used to it.
