Coimbatore Tube Co.

Our shop, Coimbatore Tube Co., sits right on Dr. Nanjappa Road at number 290. We are across from the Municipal Complex, so there is always plenty of activity and noise outside. We have been in this same spot for many years. The building is older, and the shelves inside are heavy with iron and steel stock. It is a bit of a maze if you do not know where you are looking. Most days involve moving pipes and tubes around to get to what a customer needs. It is physical work and my hands are usually a bit greasy by noon. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The road outside is noisy with buses and bikes, so we often have to shout to be heard. We do not spend money on fancy offices or decor. We have a simple desk in the corner with a pile of bills and a landline phone that rings quite a bit. Sometimes the old ceiling fan makes a clicking sound, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on getting the right sizes for people who stop by. If someone is looking for something specific, we check the back room first. It is dusty back there and the lighting is poor. We have known the neighbors for a long time. It is a steady way to make a living.
