Chopras

Our shop is tucked away at 3618/27 in the Sudershan Market, which is part of the famous Chawari Bazar. If you know the area, you know how packed and chaotic it can be. We have been operating from this small space for many years. We sell a variety of goods, mostly focusing on hardware items that local builders and residents need. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with boxes. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually have it. Chawari Bazar has a specific energy that you don't find anywhere else. There are rickshaws, porters, and shoppers everywhere you look. It is loud and can be quite overwhelming for someone not used to it. We don't have air conditioning or a fancy display window. We just have our stock and a counter where we talk to people. We know many of our regular customers by name. We see them every week or two. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't do any online marketing or social media. People know where we are and what we sell. Most of our day is spent helping people find the right parts or talking to our suppliers about new stock. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. When the market closes, we head home and get ready to do it all again the next morning.
