If you find yourself in the Prabhadevi area of Mumbai, you might see the Kaliandas Udyog Bhavan building. We are up on the third floor in room 332. It’s a pretty busy spot near Century Bazar, so the street noise is something we just live with every day. We’ve been operating out of this space for quite some time, dealing with all the stuff that comes with education consulting. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks, computers, and a lot of paper. We spend our hours talking to young people who want to see what’s out there for them globally. Sometimes the traffic in Mumbai makes people late for their appointments, so things can get a bit behind schedule, but we try to stay patient. It’s a local business feel here, where we know the security guards and the folks in the other offices. We don’t have some polished speech prepared for everyone who walks in. Mostly, we just listen to what they need and see what the options are. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. We keep a stash of tea and biscuits for when the day gets long. It’s just us doing our job in this corner of the city, trying to make sense of all the different university rules and application steps that seem to change every other week. We just try to keep things practical for everyone involved.
