We are based at 103/a, Krishna Chambers, which is at 59 New Marine Lines in Churchgate. It’s a very central location, which makes things easier for us. Chirag Exports And Imports has been in this building for quite a bit. Being in Churchgate means we are close to the station, so the commute is manageable for everyone. Krishna Chambers is a busy office building with all sorts of companies. Our office is on the first floor, which is nice. We have a modest setup with enough room for our desks and a small area for filing. Export and import work involves a lot of details, so our desks are usually covered in documents and notes. We spend our day talking to various agencies and making sure the shipments are on track. The area around New Marine Lines is always lively, with people heading to the courts or the stations. You can hear the city life outside our windows all day. We keep things informal here; we don’t have a dress code or anything like that. It’s just a group of people working together to manage the business. We take our tea breaks together and try to stay on top of the workload. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t spend money on fancy furniture, just what works for us. It’s a steady job in a busy part of Mumbai. We’ve been at it for years and know the routine.
