Chenab Impex Pvt. Ltd. operates out of Room No. 202 on the second floor of the Shiv-Darshan Co-Op Housing Society. It is right in the middle of Bhatwadi in Ghatkopar West. This is a very busy residential and commercial area, so there’s always something going on. Our office is not a big corporate space; it’s actually more like a converted apartment. We have a lot of samples and boxes piled up in the corners because of the import and export business. The stairs up to the second floor are narrow, so we have to be careful when moving things in and out. Most of the day is spent on the phone or checking emails. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Visitors just knock and come right into the main room. We have a few old computers and a printer that jams every now and then. It gets quite hot in the afternoon, so we keep the windows open for the breeze. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like kids playing or vendors calling out. We like being in Ghatkopar because it is easy for us to get around. We are just a small team of people trying to keep the business running smoothly. It’s a very practical way of working. We don't have any big mission statements, we just make sure the orders get processed and the paperwork is correct for our customers.
