Chandu Steel Centre

We are located at D-40 on Chakan Road in Kurla East. It’s a busy industrial kind of neighborhood. Our shop is full of steel rods, sheets, and various metal bits. It’s heavy work moving things around all day. The air always smells a bit like iron and dust. We’ve been here for years, serving the local builders and small workshops that need materials. It gets loud when we are loading up a truck or cutting something to size. We don't have a fancy office or air conditioning, just the shop floor and a small desk where we keep the bills. Most of our customers are people we've known for a long time. They just tell us what they need and we pull it from the stack. Sometimes we are out of a specific gauge and have to wait for the next delivery. Kurla can be a bit chaotic with the narrow roads and the trucks trying to get through, but we manage. We aren't a massive factory, just a local center for steel. My clothes usually have some rust stains on them by the end of the shift. That’s just part of the job. We try to keep things organized but when it’s busy, piles of steel tend to end up everywhere. It’s a practical business for people who are building things. We keep the scales calibrated so everyone gets exactly what they pay for without any arguments.
