Chamunda Hilifts

Our shop, Chamunda Hilifts, is located right at No. 14 on the ground floor. Being in 1st Bhatwadi near the Opera House in Girgaon means there is never a quiet moment. It’s a tight space, honestly. We are right opposite Nanak Niwas, so we see a lot of people passing by all day. The ground floor spot is good for moving the smaller parts in and out, though the traffic in Girgaon can be a nightmare sometimes. We’ve got a few desks and a lot of shelves filled with stuff. It is definitely not a polished showroom. Most of the time, the floor is a bit dusty from the street outside. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or talking to people who drop in. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. It is just a couple of us making sure the hilifts are ready when someone needs them. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the news, and other days we don’t even have time to eat lunch. The heat in Mumbai gets to us sometimes, but the fans in the shop help a bit. It is a simple setup, really. We’ve been in this part of Girgaon for a while, and we know most of the other shop owners around Bhatwadi. It feels like a real community here.
