Chain Plus

Our shop is located at 109-111 Dhanji Street, right on the ground floor. If you have ever been to this part of the city, you know how packed the lanes are. We are directly across from Sangam Chains, so there is always a lot of movement and people walking past the door. The space is quite long and narrow, filled with glass counters that have seen better days. We spend most of our time sitting behind these counters, talking to people or counting out stock. It gets very noisy with all the street sounds coming in, especially the motorbikes and the shouting of the vendors. We keep the tea kettle going for most of the morning because it helps pass the time when things are slow. The floor is made of old tiles that are worn down in the spots where we stand the most. We have a small back room where we keep the extra inventory, but it is so cramped that you have to turn sideways to get through the door. It is a bit of a struggle to keep everything organized when you have so many small items to track. By the time we close the shutters at night, our eyes are usually pretty tired from looking at all the fine details of the metal links. It is a hard way to earn a living, but we have been on this street for years and wouldn't know what else to do with our time.
