You can find us at Shop No-14 in Thurakia Park, which is part of Manisha Society in Kandivali West. It’s a bit of a maze back here sometimes if you aren't used to the layout of the society buildings. We do steel engraving, so the shop is usually filled with the smell of metal and the sound of the machines running. It can get pretty loud when we have a big order to finish by the end of the day. We have various tools scattered across the workbenches and piles of metal sheets waiting to be worked on. It’s not a showroom; it’s a proper workshop where things actually get made by hand. We spend most of our time hunched over the machines, making sure the marks are deep enough and the lines are straight. My hands are usually a bit dirty from the oil and metal dust. We have been in this shop for a long time, and the floor shows the wear and tear of all those years. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and take phone calls from customers. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait a bit, which gives us a chance to step outside for a bit of air. The residents in Manisha Society are used to the noise of our tools by now. We just focus on getting the engraving done right so the labels or signs look like they are supposed to. It’s honest work.
