Cafe Sea Side

You can find us at the Cafe Society building on B J Road, right near Fair Field Road in Bandra West. It’s a nice enough spot, being so close to the water and all. We get a lot of the sea breeze, though it makes everything a bit salty after a while. The cafe isn't very large, but we have enough tables for the morning crowd that comes in for coffee. We spend a lot of time just tidying up and making sure the chairs are straight. Some people come in to read the paper and stay for an hour, which is fine with us. We aren't in a huge rush here. The kitchen is small, so when it gets busy, you can hear us working back there. It’s a bit of an old building, so the floors creak a little when you walk on them. We don't do anything too fancy. It’s just a place to sit and have a bite. Sometimes the seagulls get a bit loud outside, but that’s just life by the coast. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we just keep doing what we do. It’s a steady job and we like seeing the same faces every day. We open early because that’s when the walkers are out. By evening, it’s mostly younger people stopping by before they head home. It’s a decent place to work and we just keep it simple.
