Cafe Nagina

Cafe Nagina is on Bellasis Road in Mumbai Central. We’re right opposite the Mehndi Masjid. If you’ve been to this part of Mumbai, you know how lively and crowded it can get. We’ve been here for a very long time, I can’t even remember exactly when we started. It’s an old-school kind of place. We have high ceilings and those old fans that have been spinning forever. We don't have a lot of fancy stuff on the walls, just a few clocks and maybe a calendar. People come here for the tea and to catch up with their friends. It’s a place where you can hear a lot of stories if you listen. The street outside is always noisy with taxis and people, but inside it has its own rhythm. We don’t have a corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just us behind the counter every day. We know most of the people who come in by name. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. It’s just a basic cafe where you can get a quick bite. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty because of the wind from the road, but we sweep it often. It’s a practical place for practical people. We just keep the doors open and see who walks in. That’s how we’ve always done it. It is what it is, and we like it that way.
