Cafe Coffee Day

Our cafe is up on Level 4 of Wing A 53 in Parel. Being inside a big building like this means we see the same office workers every morning at the same time. It’s a bit of a trek to get up to the fourth floor, but it stays busy once the work day starts. We spend a lot of time cleaning the steam wand and wiping down the small tables. The chairs are those standard ones you see everywhere, and they get moved around a lot when people have meetings. It’s not a cozy living room vibe; it’s more of a place where people come to get a break from their desks. We have a big window that looks out over Parel, which is probably the best thing about the spot. You can see all the construction and the trains moving far below. Sometimes the coffee machine makes a high-pitched whistling sound that we can’t quite get rid of. We don't have a lot of storage space, so everything is tucked away in corners. It’s just a regular job for us, making sure the mugs are clean and the milk is cold. We don’t have much to do with the corporate office; we just run this one little corner on the fourth floor and try to keep the line moving when the 11 o’clock rush hits.
