Cafe Coffee Day

If you are walking down East Street in the Camp area, you will find our Cafe Coffee Day tucked away in Worli West. It is not a very big place, just enough room for a few tables and the coffee machine that we keep running from morning until we close up at night. The street outside gets pretty busy with people rushing around, but inside it stays relatively steady. We spend most of our time grinding beans and steaming milk for whoever happens to walk through the door. Sometimes the regulars come in and sit in the same corner every day, and we usually know what they want before they even say it. We don't do anything too fancy here; it is just a spot to sit down for a bit. The floor needs sweeping pretty often because of all the foot traffic from the street, and we try to keep the windows clean so people can look out at the Camp neighborhood. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so the air conditioning is usually working hard to keep things cool. We’ve got some old chairs that have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough if you just need a break. Most of the staff has been here for a while, so we know the layout like the back of our hands. It’s a simple job, really, just making coffee and chatting with the folks from Worli West who stop by for a drink.
