C.J. Kumar

The shop is right in Mandvi, specifically in the New Motor Market. If you know this area, you know how loud and busy it gets with all the vehicles and people moving around. I’ve been working here at C.J. Kumar for quite some time now. We mainly deal with motor parts and things like that. It’s a small space, but we keep it packed with whatever stock we can fit on the shelves. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit because of all the boxes. People come in looking for specific spares, and usually, we have what they need or we know where to get it. The motor market is a tough place to work, especially in the heat, but the community of sellers here is good. We all know each other. I usually have tea with the neighbor shop owner in the afternoons. It's not a glamorous job. My hands are often greasy from handling parts. But it’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the name on the door. Most people find us by word of mouth or because they’ve been coming to Mandvi for years. The traffic outside is always a mess, so we usually tell people to park a bit further away and walk over. It's just how business goes in this part of town.
