Brass Line is up on the second floor of the Manik Building. We are at 88/90 Trinity Street in the Dhobitlao area, right near the Metro Cinema. It’s an old building, like many in this part of South Mumbai, so the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to them. We deal with brass fittings and hardware items mostly. The rooms are filled with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, packed with different small parts. It’s a bit dark inside sometimes, but we have enough light to see what we are doing. The street outside is always crowded with people and taxis, and you can hear the horns honking all day long. We’ve been in this location for a long time, and we like being in the heart of the city where everything is happening. Most of our customers are contractors or people doing up their homes who need specific brass pieces. We spend our time counting out items, packing them into small bags, and writing out bills by hand. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us so far. We don’t have any corporate slogans or big promises. We just sell what we have in stock and try to be honest about what it is. If something is not available we just tell people and maybe suggest where else they might find it in the market.
