We’re over at Plot No. 83-C in the Government Industrial Estate in Charkop. It’s in Kandivali West, which is a big area for this kind of work. Abhijeet Dies & Tools Pvt. Ltd. has been here for a good while. The shop is full of heavy machinery and the smell of oil. It’s not a place for nice clothes. We spend our time working on dies and various tools that other businesses need. It’s precise work, but the environment is definitely industrial. We have a small crew and everyone knows their job. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend half the day fixing them, which is frustrating but it happens. We aren't interested in fancy presentations or corporate talk. We just focus on the metal and the measurements. The estate is always buzzing with activity, so there’s never a quiet moment. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for things to cool down. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with heavy parts. We try to be careful with everything we do. It’s just a standard workshop where we put in the hours and go home. There’s no mystery to it. We just do the work that comes in. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and we all kind of look out for each other in the estate. It’s a solid way to make a living, even if it’s loud and greasy most of the time.
