Brahma Tax

Brahma Tax is located at Shop Number 453 in Gopalak Gally. This is inside M J Market, which is near Zaveri Bazar in Kalbadevi. The area is famous for being crowded and having very thin streets. Our shop is quite small, like most in M J Market. We are surrounded by other businesses doing similar work. Zaveri Bazar is right there, so there's always a lot of security and people moving gold and jewelry around. We focus on our own things, mostly textiles or tax-related work depending on the day. The shop has a small wooden bench for people to sit on while we talk. The walls have old calendars and some shelves for files. It’s very hot in the summer because the breeze doesn't really reach these inner alleys. We use a small table fan to keep cool. People come to us because we’ve been here in Kalbadevi for such a long time. They know the address. We don't have any posters or big advertisements. It’s just the name on a small board above the door. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in with questions. It’s a lot of listening and looking through papers. We close up when the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s a hard place to work sometimes, but it’s what we know. We walk to the station every evening through the same crowded lanes we've walked for years.
