Bombay Steel

Bombay Steel has been operating at 243 Kholsa Budder Road for a very long time. This part of Mazgaon, which people call the Darukha area, is very industrial and busy. We are located right near the Britannia Biscuit Company. On some days, if the wind is blowing the right way, the whole street smells like fresh biscuits, which is a nice change from the usual smells of metal and grease. Our place is not anything fancy to look at. It is just a big, sturdy space where we keep our steel stock and handle the cutting. The road outside is always full of heavy trucks and trailers moving back and forth. It is quite a noisy environment most of the day. We do not have any sales people or marketing brochures to hand out. Most people who come to see us already know exactly what they are looking for. They just pull up their trucks, tell us the sizes and quantities they need, and we get it ready for them. It is heavy, physical work, moving those steel beams and plates around, but we are well used to it by now. The building itself has seen better days, but it keeps the rain off the steel, and that is what really matters. We have a small corner where we do the paperwork, usually piled with old ledgers. We just open the gates early and stay until the day's work is finally finished.
