About Bombay International School – Education in Mumbai
Bombay International School is right there in the Gilbert Building on Babulnath 2nd Cross Lane. If you know Mumbai, you know this area is always moving. The school is kind of tucked into the lane, so it feels a little more private than the main roads nearby. The building has that old charm to it, with the high ceilings and the way the stairs creak a bit when everyone is changing classes at the same time. We don’t have a massive campus with fields, but we use every inch of space we have in the building. It’s a tight-knit place because of that. You see the same faces every day, and the teachers really know the kids by name. The traffic around Babulnath can be a nightmare in the afternoons, so the pick-up time is always a bit chaotic with cars trying to squeeze through. Inside, though, it’s all about the work. We have the labs and the library, and kids are always huddled in corners working on projects. It’s not a corporate-feeling place at all. It feels more like a house that turned into a school over time. People choose us because they like that it feels personal and not like a factory. We keep the doors open and the fans running, and we just get on with the business of teaching. It’s a busy, cramped, lively place that has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. We just try to make it work for everyone.
