Bombay Cambridge School, Andheri East

Bombay Cambridge School is located over in Andheri East, specifically on Rabindranath Tagore Marg. You have to turn off Sahar Road to find us, tucked away near the Chakala area. It’s a pretty packed part of the city, so there is always a lot going on right outside our doors. Most mornings start with the sound of buses and rickshaws dropping off students at the gate. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially in the classrooms facing the sun, so we keep the windows open and the fans going full blast. The building itself is functional and we use every bit of space we have. There are hallways where kids hang up their drawings and posters, though some of them start peeling off after a while because of the humidity. Our staff room is usually a mess of notebooks and tea cups, especially during exam season when everyone is busy grading papers. We’ve got a mix of young teachers and some who have been here since the place first opened its doors. It’s not a quiet place, but schools rarely are. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day schedule, making sure the bells ring at the right time and the kids don’t run too fast in the corridors. It’s a straightforward environment where we focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the school day runs as smooth as possible despite all the heavy Andheri traffic.
