B.M.C Bank Ltd

This is our spot in Kurla West. It’s Room Number 10 in Moulana Chawl. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you don't know the area well. We are right near the Gazi Miya Dargah, which is a major landmark here. The Halav Pool area is always crowded with people and bikes. It’s loud and busy from morning until late at night. The B.M.C Bank Ltd office itself is small. We don’t have those high ceilings or marble floors you see in big city banks. It’s a very local operation for the people living in the chawl and around it. Everyone knows everyone here. We handle the basic banking stuff, mostly for the neighbors. It gets very hot inside during the summer months, but we have a few fans going. Sometimes the queue goes out the door because there isn't much space inside for people to wait. We use old desks and the computers are a bit slow sometimes. But we get the entries done eventually. The tea stall right outside is where we go when we need a five-minute break to clear our heads. Living and working in Kurla is an experience, it's never quiet. There is always someone shouting or a horn honking. We have been here at Mumbai-70 for quite a while now. It's just a regular part of life in this neighborhood and we are used to it.
