Our place is over in Andheri East, right in the Navketan Industrial Premises. If you know where the old Onida building is on Mahakali Caves Road, we’re just opposite that at number 42. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around, but it works for what we do with metals. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes with all the inventory, but we manage. We aren’t some huge corporation with a glass front; it’s more of a working warehouse and office space combined. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know the routine. We handle a lot of metal components and raw materials. Usually, the phone is ringing or someone is out back checking a shipment. The traffic on Mahakali Caves Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get most of our loading done early. It’s a practical setup for a business like ours. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. Just some desks, computers, and a lot of metal. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure things go out on time. It's a lot of physical work and paperwork, but it’s what we know how to do best in this little corner of Mumbai. We’ve been here for a long time and the building has become like a second home for most of us. It gets hot in the summer but we have enough fans to keep us going.
