Everyone in the city knows that big building right on the Western Express Highway in Chakala. That’s where we are, specifically at the corner in Parshiwada, Andheri East. It has become a landmark for people driving by, mostly because of the constant stream of delivery trucks. Working here means you are right in the thick of the Mumbai traffic and the constant noise. Inside the gates, it’s a busy mix of a massive bottling plant and several office floors. You can hear the clinking of the glass and plastic bottles pretty much everywhere you go in the building. We don’t have much time for sitting around or long lunches because the demand for water never really stops. Our desks are often covered in logistics maps and delivery schedules that change by the hour. It’s a very fast-paced place. The air is always moving, either from the big industrial fans or the trucks pulling in and out of the loading bays. We see thousands of people passing by the gates every day. Even though Bisleri International Pvt Ltd is a huge name that everyone recognizes, the actual daily work is just about making sure the water is clean and the trucks are loaded up correctly. We’ve got a lot of staff who have worked here for twenty or thirty years, so it feels a bit like a small community. It’s definitely not a quiet job, but it’s where we get things done.
