Our office is located right on N M Joshi Marg over in Lower Parel. If you know the area, it’s the old B D D Chawls side of things. Bhupendra Shah & Co. has been operating out of this spot for a while. We aren't one of those big fancy firms in the high-rise glass buildings you see nearby. It’s a bit more traditional here. We deal with tax audits and accounting for small businesses and individuals around the Delisle Road area. The space is a bit cramped with all the files we have to keep, but it's home for us. During the monsoon, the street gets a bit messy, but work doesn't stop. We usually have the radio on low in the background while we check through ledgers. Most of our clients have been with us for years because they know where to find us. We don't really do much advertising or anything flashy. We just sit here and do the accounting work. It’s a lot of numbers every day, which can be tiring, but it’s what we do. Lower Parel has changed a lot, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We take our lunch breaks together and then get back to the calculators. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. We focus on getting the filings done on time so nobody gets a notice from the department.
