Bhankharia Tea

Bhankharia Tea is located in the old Fort area, specifically at 106 Modi Street. We are inside the Bhankaria Building, which is an old structure that has seen a lot of history. You have to come up to the first floor to find us. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to watch your step. Modi Street is always packed with people and vendors, especially during the middle of the day. It’s one of those parts of town where there is always something happening. Our office has been in the family for a long time. It smells like old wood and paper in here. We spend a lot of time sitting around the main table, talking about orders and looking at samples. The building itself is quite sturdy despite its age. We like being in Fort because everything is close by, even if the traffic is a nightmare sometimes. There is no air conditioning in the hallways, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. It can get dusty, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. We don't have a modern reception or anything like that. People just walk in, and someone is usually there to help them. It is a very traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The sound of the city is something we have just grown to live with.
