Bhankharia Tea Co

You can find us at 302 Charni Road, right at the Ravi Satranjiwala Chowk. This is a very busy intersection, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside our door. At Bhankharia Tea Co, the first thing you notice when you walk in is usually the smell. We deal with a lot of tea, so that scent sticks to everything, which isn't a bad thing at all. The shop is at number 302, and it’s a pretty simple setup. We have large bags and containers everywhere, and a small counter where we talk to people. Charni Road is one of those places that never really seems to quiet down, even late in the day. We spend most of our time weighing things out or writing down orders in our notebooks. It’s not a modern looking place with digital screens or anything like that. It’s more traditional, with wooden shelves and old-style scales. We like being at the chowk because we get to see everyone passing by. Sometimes we stand at the doorway just to watch the traffic for a minute before getting back to the bags and the tasting. It is a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure the tea is kept right and dry. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and the neighbors all know us by now. It’s a good community to be a part of on Charni Road.
